About 7 years ago Harry Mason and his wife found a baby, who they adopted and named Cheryl, on the side of the road. Harry's wife died soon after, but Harry continued to love and nurture his daughter. The 7-year-old and Harry were traveling to a resort in Silent Hill when they saw a cop on a motorbike drive by, then coming up around a corner was the cop's bike laying on the side of the road and the cop is no where to be found. After looking at the bike on the side of the road a strange figure, looking like a girl, appears out of nowhere in front of his car and he is forced to curve out of hitting the figure and swerves off the side of the road. When he wakes up his daughter Cheryl has strangely disappeared and a thick fog surrounds him. Strange things happen in the fog. Creatures never to be seen before lurk in the fog and attack Harry. He continues to look for his daughter around town, which turns out to be darker than he had expected. .
